QR Code Reader · Scout

Privacy policy

Effective September 5, 2026. This policy covers QR Code Reader (App Store: Quick QR Code Reader & Maker), provided by Ferdi Kiziltoprak, including the Scout features in version 4.0.

Your scans stay on your device

QR and barcode contents, scan history, folders, favourites, notes, and codes you create are processed and stored locally. We do not upload these contents to our servers, RevenueCat, or Firebase. Link safety checks run on your device. The widget reads recent scans through storage shared with the app. Device backups may contain local app data according to your Apple settings.

Permissions and actions you choose

The camera is used to scan codes. Selected photos are read to scan an image or add a logo. Contact access is used only when you choose to save a contact. If you open a scanned link, call a number, send an email, or share/export a code, the selected website, app, recipient, or service receives the information needed for that action under its own privacy policy. The app does not request location access.

Purchases

Apple processes payments. We use RevenueCat to load products, validate purchases, restore purchases, and determine Pro access. RevenueCat processes an app-specific user identifier, purchase and transaction information, entitlement status, and technical information such as app/OS version and device type. We do not receive your card details. This data is used to provide purchased features and support purchases, not for cross-app advertising.

Diagnostics

Release builds use Google Firebase Crashlytics for crash diagnostics, including crash traces, installation identifiers, device/OS information and app version. We do not attach scan contents, contact details, or QR payloads to crash reports. Analytics collection and automatic push-token registration are disabled in the updated app. Earlier versions may have used Firebase analytics or push messaging.

No advertising tracking

The current app contains no advertising SDK and does not collect an advertising identifier or track you across other companies’ apps and websites. Purchase and diagnostic data are processed by the service providers described above to operate the app.

Support and this website

If you contact support, we receive your email address and the information you send. We use it to answer your request. This site is hosted by Firebase Hosting, which may process network information such as IP addresses and request metadata to deliver and secure the site. The site uses no analytics scripts or advertising cookies.

Retention and your choices

Local scans remain until you delete them or remove the app; backups may retain copies. Purchase records are retained as needed to honour purchases, handle refunds and meet applicable recordkeeping requirements. Firebase crash reports are generally retained for 90 days. Support correspondence is retained as needed to resolve requests and maintain relevant records. To ask about access, correction, or deletion of provider-held data, contact us; some purchase records may need to be retained. Deleting the app does not cancel an Apple subscription.

Contact and updates

For privacy questions or requests, email nurdanalbas@gmail.com. We may update this policy when the app or its services change and will update the effective date above.
